Orient Fitness

For the past few months I have been checking out for quite a lot of fitness clubs both in Penang Island and Mainland because I would like to join one to force myself for a consistent exercise. There are a few things that I hope I can have in order to fully enjoy my exercise in the fitness club, these are the things:

1. Acceptable Fee

2. Suitable Area

3. Friendly Staff

4. Steam bath

5. Good Equipment

After around 6 months of surveying around Penang, I've came to conclusion that "Orient Fitness" is one of the best Fitness club that I've found because they have the lowest monthly fee with new first hand equipment, friendly staff, nearest to my working place and STEAM BATH! Nah... I'm not a promoter of Orient Fitness but I just want to share the Facts! to my readers, and I have no offense to other fitness clubs too. Anyway, hope you guys out there who looking for one, consider "Orient Fitness" (Krystal Point Corporate Park, Krystal Suites, Lvl8)

This month will be so called "busy" month, I know, busy is not a good word but I've no other word to describe it, but anyway I'm sure it will be a challenging month for me to grow in spiritually and physically too. Graduation, Youth Camp and Church anniversary just ended and this coming Friday I'm going to Thailand for Mission Trip and this time I will preach in their Revival Sunday Service. WoW month right? apart from all the challenges and coming events, I'm still glad that my dear Pam is with me all the time even though sometimes I knew she's trying very hard to lessen my burden. Hope God will continue to mold me to be a good husband in the future, so that she can consider herself to have a happy ending.

I'm glad how God is using me and never give up on me no matter how lousy I am. Yesterday before the service end, I told the church that "as long as we are willing to say Yes to God, You have no idea what God can do through you." In this year 2011, I think this is one of the major thing I learnt and experience in my life. You have no idea how God can use you.

In the end, i stepped on this land of Penang again. Say goodbye to my family is always so difficult and sad i think because of the comfort zone they've provided me for 23 years. Letting go my youngest brother's hand is like piercing my own heart. sigh.... I've no idea why i'm so emo but to conclude this with Dr. Lawson style. We must love and value our family because you will never regret it.

Life is so much different even after i got engaged with my beloved fiancee, (pamelyn teh). I felt that I've became a so called "MAN". But i truly thank God for her, she's the most wonderful girl i've ever met. here are some of the engagement pictures of us in Sandakan and Penang.

stepping up for God alone

Life is very different now compared to last year because of the adjustment in a new environment, new ministry, new audience, new relationship and new house. But one thing I really thank God is His faithfulness. Even though I don't know what are the challenges ahead but I know He will never forsake me. I won't worry about tomorrow, trusting God for He will take care of my needs.

This coming Saturday night and Sunday morning, I'm going to preach in my church main service. I felt a little bit nervous and at the same time God keep reminding me that His Spirit will guide me. With God's assurance, peace clothed my heart.

2 Timothy 4:2

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

Prayer request: do pray for me to be bold to preach and rely on God's Spirit as I preach His word.(Thank you my readers.)

I've realize that my new year goals will always be something for myself but here I would like to start my 2011 with the words of thanksgiving to all my family and friends. I'm so sure that I can't listed ALL my friends/family but even though your name is not mention here, not because of I don't value you, just because of my brain memory only left 30MB. Happy New Year to you all.

JESUS - First, I would like to thank Jesus. You're the only one that can sustain me. Whenever I'm down, tired, lost and a lot more weaknesses of mine, You never leave me. I can feel Your presence especially when I'm in time of trouble. I love you Jesus, I'm sorry for the things that I hurt you in year 2010. In this new year, please continue to hold my hand and strengthen me to do whatever You've entrusted me. Amen.

Parents - I would like to start with "I love you guys." Is not easy to say it out through my mouth, maybe because of our family culture but I'm going to break this culture starting here. You guys have sacrifice a lot for me and your other sons and daughter. Last year, most of the time I was in Penang but I'm sure once in a while I did disappoint or hurt you guys with my words or action. Please forgive me, I love you guys and trying my best to support our family in many other ways. In my heart, you guys are the Best parents I have ever had. (I know I only got 1 mum and 1 dad, but still there are the best)

Sister (Michelle Tay) - I know you will miss the time when we're young, playing around with a lot of crazy and dangerous things at home. I miss that time too, I still love you and care for you. I hope you will be the best mother for your child, be the best wife for your husband, be the best daughter for your parents and be the best big sister to your younger siblings. Trust that God will always be there for you when you need Him. Love ya.

Brother (Samuel Tay) - He's someone that will always care for people. When he buy anything, he will buy for me too. He's generous. I want to thank you for being a wonderful brother of mine. I hope you will be a good brother to Jason Tay too. Continue to seek the purpose of life in Jesus.

Girlfriend (Pamelyn Teh) - You're the greatest gift from God. You love me for who I am and I love you. My life became more interesting with you around. Your laughter brighten my day, when you're not in the mood to laugh, is my turn to practice my humor to make you laugh. You're the best and the one that I gave my heart away totally. I really want to thank you for everything that you have sacrifice for me. I pray that God will continue to be our guide as we continue on our journey of life together in the future. I love you.

Pam's parents and Jie - Thank you for the support that you guys gave me and Pam. It really means a lot to me to have the blessing from you guys. I felt like I got another new family in Penang. hahaha... I hope we can serve the Lord together. May God continue to empower everyone of you to serve Him.

Today is 7 September, after a few more days I'll be going back to Penang. I felt heavy hearted because is almost time to leave my family again especially my grandparents. I'm not sure how can I lead them to Christ but I just pray and hope that one day in the future they will accept and believe in Jesus. I appreciate you(reader) if you can pray for my grandparents' salvation. *smile :)

Yesterday i preached about Romans 12:1-2 which i did mentioned in one of my reflection in the previous post. I've tried my best to share the word of God and I trust God will do His part to soften people's heart to make a decision for their own lives. After I went back home, Galatians 2:20 keep on bugging my mind. That was when Paul said "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me". I'm sure this is a very profound saying from Paul. To me, it is a model for me to follow, to crucify my own desire for my life and relying on Him totally. It means Kevin no longer exist, what i want, my lifestyle, the future i want, or simply means 'everything!'. Even though physically still here on earth but it belongs to Christ alone. William Carey is one of my hero, he really showed his life according to Gal 2:20.So it is not an easy decision or commitment to make but if there's anything that I can't give up and it takes a higher place than God, then I really need God's wisdom to re-prioritize my life. Christ lives in us, from the inside of us live out the Christ Like life, Christ Mind, attitude, Christ intimate relationship with the Father. I prayed that God will continue to help me to live a Christ likeness life.
I decrease and Christ increase in me.

No matter who you are, your heart got an empty slot. Everyone had an empty slot in their hearts which they will find something or someone to filled in. People tend to get materials or someone they want to fill in the empty slot in their hearts because it can gives them identity, satisfaction and self value or in other word, they are somebody instead of nobody. No matter you guys start realizing it or ignore it, the tension is still there. We can start to re-prioritize our life or fix it later or don't do anything about it at all but even if we don’t do anything about it, the tension is still there. You're just fooling yourself for a longer time. Is it necessary to use expensive things or follow the trend of the world to become somebody?

In Romans 2:12 says "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

God knows human will always try to follow the pattern of this world and this "pattern" is very much related to our mind, that's way the verse continues about commanding the people to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. The pattern can be external but it affect us internally. During the Romans time, they have their world patterns of living and now in Malaysia, we have our patterns of living. Maybe the Global Culture can be categorize as the pattern, I'm not saying it is totally bad but there are things that we need to be alert of. There are values that is what the world think it is OK, not totally wrong or totally right, but the best and cool word "OK". Is OK to do this as long as.... Is OK to earn a little bit more in this way as long as.... Is OK to skip school as long as i get a good result. Is OK to suffer a bit with this job as long as I get a high pay. Is not about the process anymore, is only about the result. Is not about how we do it, is only what we get from it. The world is baiting us closer and closer to the wrong zone but if we cross over, the culture turns back to blame at us. The culture baits us closer to greediness but if we crossed over and get caught, the culture/people blame us about it. The culture baits us closer to the idea of SEX through media, people, magazine and etc, but if we crossed over, the culture turns back to blame at us. It is the fact, the world's pattern that keeps baiting us over the wrong zone but if we get overboard, blame comes. How can we be alert about it, Alert starts from our Mind and that's why the verse says "be transformed by the renewing of your mind". What kind of values you're downloading to your mind? Computer needs clean up, House needs clean up, our minds need to be clean up too. The longer we wait, the more difficult to get it clean. The Bible, God's word is the good values that we need to keeps on downloading to our mind so that it can be renew everyday. Let's imagine what i'm going to say. Imagine that the place is full or dirt. Each day a little bit more dirt added in, you won't realize it is getting more and more. The more we know the value and teaching of the Word of God, the better conscience we have. We will be able to test and approve what God's will is, God's will is good, pleasing and perfect will.

When I saw one of my best friend bought a new car, I was thinking when is my turn and in the end I know I should trust God that He will provide to me if I really need one. When another best friend of mine bought a new car, I felt a bit sad because I know I that I don't have the money to get one but anyway, I know my God will provide if I really need one. When my third best friend bought a new car, I started to think why I still don't have the money to get a car and why I have to wait for such a long.

But when I think carefully, I found that God actually blessed me tremendously.

While I was in Sandakan

1. I can use the church van during the day time to go to work (Fuel Free)

2. I can use my parent's car at night

Now in Penang

1. I can use one of my seminary friend's car twice a Month during the weekend.

2. My church member borrow her car to me during the weekend.

3. Church support my petrol, that's mean i have petrol allowance.

Is not about how much I can earn but how can I trust in Jesus and be Content with my life.

I think I seldom write about myself and post it in my blog but now I'm going to write out the feelings that have been stored inside me for quite some time. This morning during my introduction to counseling class, my lecturer asked all the students to close their eyes and listen to the music she's going to play. The first music she played sounds "happy" and after a while, she asked us about our feeling or image that appear in our minds while listening to the music. While I was listening to the music she played, I saw an image of people dancing, happy faces, inside the cruise(ship)'s ballroom. When she played the second music, I saw the parents sending his son off. The son went in to the ship and waving his hand towards his parents and kind like a sad farewell mood, oh ya... was in Black and White Color, looks like those old movies. After the class, I've been thinking whether it is possible that the images i saw reflects what is inside my heart. I hate farewell. Farewell became a fear in me.

I found this article of mine and it was written long time ago, now I'm wondering why i wrote this stuff. Anyway, not necessary right/true but hope you enjoy reading:

Not only romance genre of movie contains Love, sometimes even horror, action, comedy, fiction and other genre of movie also contains Love. What will happen if the world without Love? If Love disappear in the world we’re living in, I don’t think I can sit here and write this stuff to the reader, the world should be upside down causes by wars and conflicts, even though this kind of things is happening now but there’s still Love within the world so that some countries still can remain generally peaceful. Now Love is the main theme in the world we’re living now, no matter you’re rich or poor, fat or thin, black or white, we still need to love and to be loved but are there any motives behind the love you gave or receive? This is a free tips that you can find out more about the general love from the world today and also the more holistic love that everyone hope to have it. During my teenage time, my ex girlfriend asked me “why do you love me?” whether you like it or not, guys, prepare to answer this question if you plan to enter into courtship or maybe you already went through the test. It seems like being loved by someone makes us wonder why I deserve the love from that particular person, is that because we see ourselves not worth for the love that people gave? Don’t try to value a person depend on their appearance, knowledge, prestige, popularity and prosperity. Not because of a young handsome man should deserve more Love from a person or a better looking girl. So if you feel that you’re in either one of this category, don’t think that you deserve better love. When you ask your boyfriend/girlfriend about the reason of loving you and you get the answer like “I love you because of your cuteness/handsome/pretty” come on! You won’t be cute forever, for ladies, your cuteness will turn to fierceness and for the guys, your six packs will rest one day in the future. So ladies and gentlemen don’t be so naïve because that kind of answer is not for a long run. If you love someone because of something, I will tell you that you’re heading to a wrong way and selfish way. For an example if you love her because of her beauty and it probably will affect your love if you meet another person who are looks better than her. If you love him because of his wealth then you probably will lose the sense of love if he spends his money to other thing instead for you. Maybe you’re wondering how I answer the question when the person I love ask me this question and why I keep telling stories but not answer the question, you will find out the answer as you go on.In a love relationship have a lot of happiness and lots of sadness too but think carefully, is that really what it means about love? That is the worldly love that we’re in. Nowadays, how we define love is through the influence of the romance drama, music, magazine, novel and the people around us. Love is a very positive word but why it brings hurt? Because, drum rolling… is not genuine. True Love is something that won’t drag you to this kind of regrets but it brings Joy, consistent efforts and the willingness of commitment. Everyone tries to find not only love alone but true love, is something genuine, unchangeable and persevere in whatever circumstances. This is not what you can learn in one day, you can’t grasp it in a short time, it takes time, effort and even hurts to really able to merge this concept of Love into us. When you are going to get married means that you have a greater commitment or permanent commitment with your spouse but this doesn’t shows that for those who are going to enter into courtship doesn’t need commitment, it is only not as permanent as compare to those marriage couple, but you need it. Let me put it in this way, no matter you’re just a friend, partner or spouse, it needs commitment is just different kind of commitment. If a person doesn’t know how to commit either to their friends, family or their partner, they won’t fully understand the definition of commitment even after they get married.Patience is one of the elements you can see in a true love relationship. It is very painful to wait, I really mean it but waiting is part of proving how true is your love, how genuine and unchangeable it is. Every time when I looked at my phone without any sms from the girl or every night just to think about how’s her life, all this really killing me. People will think that I’m crazy but let’s forget the world’s perspective of love. We need to patiently wait even though we get nothing, at least you done your part. Love is not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.

Every one of us have the right to manage our time and it determine our future. When we work for a company, the company pays us because of our contribution and time. No one can grab our time because it is in our hands; we are the one to make the final decision of using our time but we often failed to take good control of it because of all the entertainment and temptation around us. First of all, I’m not the professional time manager but I’m just another ordinary person that always struggles about managing my time. Facebook is one of the internet website that can take a lot of our times, I came to think of this, if we use the time we spend for facebook to evangelize to people around us, I’m sure God can work through us to bless the people around us. If we use the time we read people’s comment and walls on facebook to read our Faithbook(the Bible), I’m sure it will benefits for our spiritual growth in our lives. Facebook can be a blessing for us to use it to connect to our friends out there but often time we misuse it. Anyway I did misuse it too and it actually took a big time frame in my life. if you are a facebook user, you can still use it but hope you will do something about it if you realize that you put too much time for it which there are other important things that you should be doing. I pray that God will continue to help us to reflect on our lives so that we can live in a better way for Him.

There are many kind of fears that we often time experience in our lives, for example, the fear of darkness, fear of certain insect, fear of conflict, and many others. I remember last year during my spiritual formation class, DR Sunny mentioned one kind of fear that human naturally afraid of it and that is "alone" or the fear of loneliness. No one in the world can survive alone and it is normal to have people who like to be alone but not all the time. if we come to think of it, when a baby is crying and his mother hug him or sleep beside him, he will automatically stop crying and that is consider one the the earliest fear that we as human experienced. Everyone need someone, no one can live alone. we need each other and that's why the Bible says 2 is better than one.

I found this article that maybe can help those who always feel lonely.

Sometime or another we will experience a time when we are alone. The first step is to become comfortable with yourself and have the self-confidence you will be able to manage being alone. There is nothing wrong with being alone. If being alone bothers you, then seeing a counselor can help you with these issues.

In the meantime, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use so that the fear of being alone doesn’t become a major issue in their lives.

The first step is to find an activity that you enjoy and where you can meet a lot of people. For instance, joining a group activity such as a badminton group, women’s club, or making crafts can be a great way to meet people. Doing something that you like to do will make you happy and will increase your chances of making friends.

Spending time with animals can be a great source of companionship.(i spend time with insects, hahaha) Having a dog or cat can make us feel loved. If you don’t own a dog or cat, then volunteer at the local animal shelter. Spending time with an animal or pet can help us to feel better and can be of good company to all of us whether we are alone or not.

Helping others through community service can be of some help. There are many people out there who could benefit from your time and talents. Helping others can give you a source of pride, help you feel better about yourself, and provide long lasting friendships. Give it a try and you will be surprised.

Challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your lonely or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, some people may think that if they are alone at the present time then they will always be alone. This is not true. Even if your alone today doesn’t mean that you will be alone all the time. No one can predict the future with one hundred percent accuracy.

It isn’t fun being alone, but sometimes there are worse things. For instance, imagine that you are married or stuck in a relationship you can’t get out of and also makes you miserable. Not only do you have to live with this person, there is no way to get out of the relationship because of various financial or personal reasons. As a result, you are stuck living with someone you can’t stand and this makes you depressed every single day of your life. With this viewpoint, being alone doesn’t sound that bad.

The important thing is to do something constructive. Sitting around and doing nothing will not make things any better whether it is dealing with the fear of being alone or something else. Go out and do something that you like to do. In addition, take it one day at a time and stay committed in trying to solve your problem.

God doesn't only want to show us that he is faithful because the bible says so, but he wants to show himself faithful in our lives. All these things that we have seen and experienced are passing. But our eternal glory, our indescribable bliss, that wonderful things we cannot yet see, is eternal. God is good, he cares, forgives, loves us at all times. Surely we must always thank him for what he does

My sharing:
Our spiritual life with God cannot be seen with our eyes but we can see using the eyes of our hearts, we know God is working and He is there even though the physical body of Jesus is not standing in front of us. People invest their TIME to earn more until neglected his/her time with God. he/she earned money(can see) and can use it to buy things... but all this will fade away compare with the closeness of our relationship with God. verse16 - highly depend on how/where we fix our eyes = whether we can be renewed day by day even though our physical is getting older n weaker. Enjoyment is not necessary something sinful... is only when you put other things higher than God.
God want us to enjoy life too. the things that can be seen is not eternal. For example, car will berkarat, laptop and mobilephone will spoil, even money we can't use it after we say bye bye to the world but our relationship with God is something spiritual, eye can't see, but heart can feel and it last forever.

Sui Ying's sharing:
regarding to verse 15-16, i really want to see this day, people around me will be filled with gratefulness, by knowing Christ. we should not be discouraged because Jesus is with us. some times i miss out the opportunity to share Christ when i had the chance to, people in the world like to see, enjoy the materials in life but people of God know what's eternal, and what is the most precious things in life. God definitely wants to be part of our life, He wants to be involved. He wants to participate.

Prayer by Lynn: Father Lord, thank you for this day, that we had this group devotion to grow closer to you. And thank you for being with us through the ups and downs of our lives. Lord, help us to keep our heart fixed on what is unseen and eternal. Help us have that genuine faith in you Lord. Father, we would want to pray that you will be present in the lives of the people we love and pour your love to them to see your glory and Heal those who are need. Sleep loss has been associated with:

Heart disease. Not getting enough sleep may trigger the release of stress hormones and proteins that bump up the risk of heart attacks and strokes. One large study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine in 2003 showed that women who slept less than five hours a night were 45% more likely to have heart problems than women who slept eight hours.

Diabetes. Being sleep-deprived can affect how your body processes blood sugar, and that could raise your risk of diabetes. One 1999 Lancet study of 11 healthy, young men found that after just six days of sleeping for four hours a night, their insulin and blood sugar levels were similar to those of people on the verge of diabetes.

Cancer. Sleeping too little has been linked with an increased risk of breast and colon cancer. Why? Exposure to light at night can decrease levels of the hormone melatonin, which may protect against cancer. Some researchers think shift workers may be more likely to get breast cancer than other women because of their exposure to artificial light at night.

Obesity. Multiple studies show that chronic loss of sleep may increase the risk of obesity. One 2004 study showed that people who sleep five hours a night are 73% more likely to become obese than those who sleep seven to nine hours. Sleep loss may cause the hormones that control appetite to get out of balance.

Depression. Depression and sleep are closely linked: While depression can cause sleep loss, sleep loss can lead to depression. In fact, some researchers believe a cause of postpartum depression is sleep deprivation.

Infection. Recent studies show that being well rested improves the body's ability to fight off infection. One 2002 JAMA study showed that men who were vaccinated for the flu after sleeping only four hours a night for six nights had less than half the flu-fighting antibodies of men who slept normally.

Accidents. You might not consider accidents a health risk. But there's no denying a car crash can have a severe impact on your health. Lack of sleep may be the culprit in up to 20% of all serious auto accidents. And several high-profile disasters -- such as Chernobyl and the Exxon Valdez oil spill -- were caused, in part, by overtired workers.

Feel a lack of sleep doesn't affect you that much? Don't trust yourself. People who are chronically overtired often don't realize it -- they've just gotten used to feeling that way.

It was a wonderful trip and an eye opening for me because i never realize that i actually enjoy looking at those birds, haha... praise God for His creative creation!

Last Monday, Brian, Prince and I went to Gurney GSC Cinema to watched "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" in 3D. It was a great movie, 75% funny/creative and 25% touching especially about the father's love. Highly recommended.

After the movie, we went to SAKAE SUSHI japanese restaurant to reward ourselves after going through the tough week. I miss Sake Sashimi!

I have no time to go out for Badminton or any other outdoor sports, so I just do some indoor exercise to keep myself fit and healthy. Guess where am i? haha... I'm waiting in front of my church Sungai Ara Christian Centre and this is my first time driving to church alone. Thank God for His protection while i'm driving. I said a prayer before i start my journey, so that i can have extra focus, extra strength, extra petrol(hohoho...) and less thinking while i'm driving. so tada~ I'm here. Maybe after a few more times of driving I'll pray less for my journey BUT is a lesson for me that in every single or simple things in life, uphold in prayer. ;) Thank You Jesus.

7 hours of waiting in LCCT

Now i'm in the LCCT airport(KL) waiting for my flight to Penang and because of the change of AIRASIA schedule, i need to wait for another 7 hours to go back to Penang instead of 4 hours. I'm sitting alone here at Coffee Beans, having my favourite ice blended double chocolate drink and doing nothing.I'm glad that i can went back to Sandakan durnig my term break, that's i had a very good time in Sandakan, enjoyed my time with my family and friends, experience God's guidance for my mission trip and also valuable fellowship time with my mission team members too. Anyway, it is time for me to switch back to the Penang lifestyle such as study, assignment, ministry, sleep late and wake up early but no matter what kind of lifestyle, please stay beside me my bro Jesus. :)

Today I had a durian trip at 5pm near Teluk Bahang, ate quite a lot of it. After the durian feast, I went back to seminary and spent some time for God to reflect about my life in the seminary. I thank God for all the lessons and blessings that He showed me throughout this few weeks. At the moment, assignments didn’t take any place in my mind but the Mission Trip took all of it. I remembered the time when I need to take up the youth ministry during the absent of my youth pastor and the time I need to plan a big camp for 110 youth, that 2 incidents taught me to trust God and molded me not to worry too much. Because of these 2 experiences, God reminded me to be calm and trust in Him, he spoke to me and shows me that He never leave me and I’m sure He will be with me this time too. I've been observing my team members just to try to understand a little bit more about them and i did discovered something GOOD in everyone of their lives. I want to give thanks for my mission team members. First…

I thank God for Vanessa, she’s someone who is very serious about God’s matter and this is what we all need to learn from her. Sometimes she speaks pretty fast or maybe will make us feel uncomfortable but when I look into her heart, her intention is good and she want to do the best for God. She always reminds us about prayer which is true, we need prayers before the trip, during the trip, after the trip and until the day we die, we need to Pray.

I thank God for Grace, someone who talk less but think a lot. Through her blog shows that she’s a person who are really in love with God. I hope that she will experience God’s blessing and being use by God in a wonderful way.

I thank God for this Happy Man, Brother Seo. His laughter really brightens my day and every time I look at him, I see Joy. He’s a teachable man, even though his English is not that good (just like me) but he’s willing to try. He took up the challenge to lead devotion in my mentoring group and after the group dismissed, he came and asked me “what is devotion?” he’s a funny man. With this teachable and willingness, I’m sure you’re going to experience God’s awesomeness in your life.

I thank God for Connie Zhu. She’s a very humble girl. I know that she’s nervous but she also willing to took up this challenge to join my mission team to Sandakan. I pray that she will experience breakthrough and learn to rely on God more and more each day.

At last, I thank God for putting Dr. Lawson in the team because I’m sure all of us will have a great time learning a lot of new things from his life and he will get to learn something from our lives. But the most important thing is we all will learn from God.

Last Thursday i had a mission meeting with my mission team members and during the mtg everyone of us shared about our health problem. I told them that my platelet count is pretty low and sometimes my lips will bleed(as long as my lip wants to). It happened again today.

"When you pray, do not use a lot of meaningless words, as the pagans do, who think that their gods will hear them because their prayers are long. Do not be like them. Your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him" (Matthew 6:7-8 TEV)

God created you and so He wants you to be the real you. By being authentic when you speak to God, you worship Him as your Creator.

For years I copied the prayers of other people. I noticed they used certain words and even a special tone of voice. I imitated all the religious clichés: "Lead, guide, and direct us, O Lord." "Bless this food to the nourishment of our bodies." "Bless the gift and the giver."

In New Testament times, prayers were wordy, meaningless rituals. There was no spontaneity, no genuineness. But Jesus says don't get caught up in ritual prayer. You don't have to use fancy language. You can't impress God with fancy language, and you shouldn't be trying to impress other people, either.

I love to hear new Christians pray; there's no pious pomposity. They haven't learned the clichés yet. They just say, "Hi, God. It's me." That's how you make contact with God. You just talk with your heavenly Father about what's on your mind. Just pray your heart. Reveal yourself.

Imagine I walked in the door one evening and my kids said: "O, almighty procreator of our family. How wonderful thou art, who sovereignly deposits our allowance to us. Oh, the majesty of thy wonderful self! We beseech thee to come eat dinner with us." I'd check their temperatures to see if they were sick! I don't want to hear that. I want them to say, "Hey! Dad's home. Good to see you, Pop!"

I'm not saying to be flippant in prayer, but that's how you make contact with God. You just talk with him in a genuine and heartfelt way.
